Corinth Loot Returned	Volume 54 Number 2, March/April 2001

The FBI has handed over to Greek officials nearly 300 artifacts stolen from the Archaeology Museum in Corinth in April 1990 (see ARCHAEOLOGY, July/August 1990, p. 22). Valued at over $2 million, the objects were recovered in 1999 when the FBI, acting on a tip that the artifacts had been consigned to Christie's for auction, found them hidden in crates of fresh fish in Miami (see "Corinth Loot Found Under Fresh Fish," November/December 1999). Two men are now on trial in Greece for the theft. Two others, thought to be in Venezuela, are being tried in absentia.
