Lobell (© and courtesy Manx National Heritage) [LARGER IMAGE] The largest and best-quality Viking hoard yet found on the Isle of Man has been discovered by a metal detectorist who immediately reported the find, allowing it to be properly excavated. The Glenfaba silver hoard is also the most varied cache to date, containing 464 coins of Hiberno-Norse and Anglo-Saxon type, 25 ingots, and a large silver armlet, found with fragments of its original container.
