"We are not 100 percent sure that the mummy is that of Rameses I, but we are 100 percent sure that it is of a king." So said Zahi Hawass, head of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities, of the mummy that was returned last fall to Egypt almost 150 years after it was brought to Canada. Resting in a flag-draped wooden crate, the mummy--which some say resembles Rameses I's son and grandson, Seti I and Rameses II--was transported by horse-drawn carriage through the streets of Cairo to the Egyptian Museum. In the future, the mummy will be displayed in the Luxor Museum.
