Spanish archaeologists found 400 skeletons from the eighteenth century while digging under the floor of Seville's Iglesia del Salvador, or Church of the Savior, for evidence of a ninth-century mosque that once stood on the site. The graves were laid out in two layers by social class, the best spots being near the area of the church reserved for clergy, according to archaeologists. Meanwhile, the search for the mosque, which in its time was the second largest in Spain, continues.
