MADRID, SPAIN—A flint blade dating to 1.4 million years ago has been uncovered in Elephant Chasm cave at Atapuerca. Human remains dating to 1.2 million years ago had been found in the same cave in 2007. The fossilized shoulder blade of a child estimated to be 800,000 years old was also freed from a block of calcified clay that was discovered in 2005.
