HANOI—Archaeologists have discovered a water system at Vietnam’s Thang Long Imperial Citadel that may date to the construction of this center of political power in the eleventh century. “It is likely that this huge brick-made water line was part of a drainage system in the Forbidden City or a spiritual structure in accordance with the science feng shui in the Ly Dynasty,” said Tong Trung Tin of the Vietnam Institute of Archaeology.
