Scholars Honor Linda Schele

More than 50 students and colleagues gathered for a three-day tribute to University of Texas epigrapher Linda Schele, whose work has broadened our understanding of the ancient Maya. Last summer, the 56-year-old Mayanist, whose coauthored books include Blood of Kings, Forest of Kings, Maya Cosmos,and the forthcoming Code of Kings,was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and given little more than a year to live.
