Restoration: June 5-17, 2004

This week we prepared for restoration activities at the Northwest Heroon (hero shrine) and the Antonine Nymphaeum (fountain) in the Upper Agora. For the latter, the scaffolding was sorted out and the lower part of it set up. Architect Ebru Torun has already started the completion of the northeast corner of the Northwest Heroon at the level of the famous frieze with of dancing girls. The complete teams of architects, workmen, and stone carvers will begin at both sites on June 20th.
