Small Finds Conservation: July 31-August 4, 2005

This week, our small finds conservation team directed by Emine Kocak received so much material that they decided to sacrifice one day of their weekend to catch up. The finds to be treated manually included dozens of coins, a beautiful bronze fibula (dress pin) in the shape of a horse from the N-S Colonnaded Street (see Sondages N-S Colonnaded Street, this week), and bone objects as well as the many vessels from storage room 2 behind the Macellum (see Macellum July 24-28, 2005), which had to be put back together by Canan Ustabay. We are extremely grateful to this fabulous and dedicated team.
