ISTANBUL, TURKEY—Archaeologists from the Istanbul Archaeology Museum report that archaeological features, including a vaulted ceiling, were illegally destroyed when the old Ïnönü Stadium, where the popular Beşiktaş soccer club played, was demolished. Construction workers had been instructed to stop if any artifacts were found. A new stadium will be built in the area.
